Judas as the tale goes, betrayed Jesus for 30 silver coins to the high priest, a betrayal that proved both controversial and meaningful that has had scholars debating for years. One of Judas’s main weaknesses seemed to be money. Another imaginable cause is that Judas expected Jesus to overthrow Roman rule of Israel.
